These gems are made of dried potato with a special technique that makes them very hard and durable. They are then hand painted with nontoxic paints in accordance with ASTM D4236 standards. We use pure sterling silver for the fastener and chain and they are totally nickel free. There are variety of garments, necklaces, earrings, bracelets, watches, etc.

I am Patricia Perez and I learned how to do this craftwork from an American volunteer who supported me. I perfected the technique of converting a native potato into a true gem, which is unique, because each potato dries with a different shape.

Aside from keeping me stable and out of poverty, I want to provide for a school support center I founded with my husband, because we are social workers. All earnings from the jewelry go to support school-age children who are poor and whose parents are unable to help them because most of them are illiterate.
